The only mythic (progression) raiding I’ve done was back in 2015. That was also the first time I really did anything at a competitive level in WoW. I enjoyed my time as a (brewmaster) tank a lot, but I had a tough time finding my way into guilds with people that had similar levels of erm.. Let’s just call it masochism, especially due to my even more lacking WoW ‘resume’ at that time. I was a complete beginner to endgame stuff after all. To fix that I figured I’d have to do some hard content, so that I could say “Look here, I did some hard content”. So, I started clearing CM’s with pugs.A couple weeks later I joined a newish guild called Malefice, where, after having to DPS for a while I was asked to tank Highmaul’s Butcher, due to one of the main tanks at the time not being able to eat his damage beyond the 20% mark. After that fight I was promoted to main tank and tanked all other progression with them from then on. Which sadly didn’t turn out to be that much. The GM/RL went afk without notice for weeks all of a sudden, and especially the progression-hungry players started leaving. It didn’t take long for the guild to die down after that, leaving me thorougly unmotivated to work my way up to a main tank spot again. I quit the game not long after, only to return now for Shadowlands, which I’ve been playing together with a real life buddy (Athloxxia) for the past few weeks. We’re now both longing to relive the satisfaction of finally downing a big bad after wiping 120 times. Or less, if possible :D.
History of Previous Guilds:
I was in three different guilds in WoD/Pandaria before I joined Malefice, which was my last guild. I only remember the name of one of them, “Interfectores”.Why did you leave them?:
Various reasons. All in some way related to me either not being allowed to raid with them, or them not really having the same goals as me with the game.
I remember having some good times with all of them though. How did you find out about Violent Circus?:
We found you on Wowprogress. Why do you think this guild is fit for you?:
– Raiddays that match our schedule
– I’m looking for a guild with proven longevity. One of the biggest reasons for me to quit a game like this is due to not having people I know that I can play with.
– I like the name. Which is more important to me than it should be :p
– Realized game-ambitions that I want to realize in the future.and what are your expectations from us?:
– A fair shot at being one of your tanks at least somewhere down the line.
– A (within limits) understanding of real life obligations. What can you bring to the team?:
With me you’ll get a tank whose main source of enjoyment in the game is seeing how far I can push myself. I’m on time unless I absolutely can’t help it, I’ll call for externals and I’ll be vocal when discussing strategy on very new content. Besides that you’ll have a calm and laid back kind of person who is very rare to anger or get frustrated. When it comes to actually tanking though, I really need to be the center of attention.Availability(How often are you available, etc.):
I play around 20-30 hours a week probably. I’ll obviously be available on raiddays, but you’ll see me online most nights besides wednesdays. During the weekends it varies.Anything else you would like to add?:
Maybe a little bit about myself/other hobbies?I work fulltime as a software engineer, and besides playing WoW and other games I (scuba)dive and play chess in my spare time. I also normally (as in, no covid) DM a DnD group every 3 weeks.
